Mahasamadhi Message 2023

The word Mahasamadhi is not understood in its correct perspective by several people. Some people take it as the spiritual condition of a saint or yogi. Others presume it to be the logical end of a spiritual exercise or sadhana. A few interpret it as a desirable condition that a monk or a saint ought to go through while passing from this world to the netherworld. Some also consider it to be a graceful exit of the spiritually evolved souls from their body and people highly extol it.

For a true yogi, entering into the state of Mahasamadhi consciously or as ordained, is a natural phenomenon because all human beings, whether saints or sinners, have to meet their logical end at a point in time, which is defined as death. It is believed that the embodied souls have to depart after the completion of a series of karmas (activities) for a certain period of time, some of which are carried forward from past lives.

More important than Mahasamadhi, the saints live their exemplary lives imbued with ethical standards and humanitarian activities for the peace, happiness, and spiritual evolution of others. They render help, support, and confidence to all those coming in contact with them, without any consideration of caste, creed, religion, temporal status, and the like.

Through their pious deeds and sayings, they establish the value of human virtue over vice. They shine in the darkness of the mundane worldly existence. Like a lighthouse, they show the path of a virtuous and ethical existence not only to desperate human beings and sinners but to all.

History, hagiography, folklore, and folksongs are created highlighting the Leelas or activities of such majestic personalities. Their pious and humanitarian activities emanate from their divine compassion which is their true identity. Some of them create miracles to help others. However, they don’t vaunt their power of miracle as an identity card. They cross the borders of philosophies, nations, and mind. Their work continues even after their Mahasamadhi. They transform constrained ideas into boundless realities, and this is what makes them eternal.

On this auspicious day, let us pray to our spiritual master, our Sadguru Shri Saibaba of Shirdi, to help us to follow the path shown by Him.

महासमाधि दिवस संदेश -2023 (Hindi)

’महासमाधि’ शब्द अनेक लोगों के द्वारा सही परिप्रेक्ष्य में नहीं समझा जाता है। कुछ लोग इसे किसी संत या योगी की आध्यात्मिक स्थिति के रूप में लेते हैं। अन्य लोग इसे आध्यात्मिक साधना की विशुद्ध परिणति मानते हैं। कुछ लोग इसकी व्याख्या एक ऐसी वांछनीय स्थिति के रूप में करते हैं, जिसमें से किसी साधु या संत को इस लोक से परलोक जाते समय गुजरना पड़ता है। कुछ लोग इसे आध्यात्मिक रूप से विकसित आत्माओं का अपने शरीर से गरिमामय प्रस्थान भी मानते हैं और लोग इसे अत्यधिक महत्व देते हैं।

सच्चे योगी के लिए सचेतन रूप से या नियत रूप में ’महासमाधि’ की स्थिति में प्रवेश करना एक स्वाभाविक प्रक्रिया है क्योंकि चाहे संत हों या पापी - सभी मनुष्यों को अपने सुनिश्चित अंत का सामना करना पड़ता है , जिसे मृत्यु के रूप में परिभाषित किया जाता है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि देहधारी आत्माओं को निश्चित समय तक कर्मों ( क्रिया-कलापों ) की श्रृंखला पूरी होने के पश्चात् प्रस्थान करना पड़ता है, जिनमें से कुछ कर्म उनके पिछले जन्मों के संचित कर्म भी होते हैं, जिन्हें कि उन्हें भोगना पड़ता है।

’महासमाधि’ से भी महत्वपूर्ण यह है कि संतगण नैतिक मानदंडों एवं मानवतावादी क्रियाकलापों से अनुप्राणित होकर दूसरों की शांति, खुशी और आध्यात्मिक चेतना के विकास के लिए अपना आदर्श जीवन जीते हैं। जो भी उनके सम्पर्क में आता है वे उसकी जाति, पंथ, धर्म, भौतिक स्थिति आदि को महत्व दिए बिना सभी की सहायता करते हैं, उसे सहारा देते हैं और उसे आत्मविश्वास प्रदान करते हैं।

अपने पावन कृत्यों और वचनों के द्वारा वे बुराई पर मानवीय गुणो का मूल्य स्थापित करते हैं। वे भौतिकतापूर्ण सांसारिक जीवन के अंघकार में प्रकाश-स्वरूप हैं। एक प्रकाश-स्तम्भ की भाँति वे निराश लोगों और पापियों को ही नहीं, बल्कि सभी मनुष्यों को सदाचार और नैतिक अस्तित्व का मार्ग दर्शाते हैं।

ऐसे महान व्यक्तित्वों की लीलाओं या क्रियाकलापों को उजागर करने के लिए इतिहास, संत-जीवनी, लोककथा और लोक-गीतों की रचना की गई है। उनके पावन और मानवीय क्रियाकलाप उनकी ईश्वरीय करुणा से उत्पन्न होते हैं , जो कि उनकी वास्तविक पहचान है। उनमें से कुछ (संत) दूसरों की सहायता करने के लिए चमत्कार भी करते हैं। हालाँकि वे अपनी चमत्कार की शक्ति का एक पहचान-पत्र के रूप में दिखावा नहीं करते हैं। वे दार्शनिक विचारधाराओं, धारणाओं और मन की सीमाओं को पार करते हैं। उनकी महासमाधि के पश्चात भी उनका कार्य जारी रहता है । वे सीमित विचारों को असीमित वास्तविकताओं में बदलते हैं और यही है, जो कि उन्हें शाश्वत बनाता है।

इस पावन दिवस पर आइए, हम सब अपने आध्यात्मिक गुरु, अपने सद्गुरु शिरडी के श्री साईंबाबा से प्रार्थना करें कि वे उनके द्वारा प्रदर्शित मार्ग का अनुसरण करने में हमारी सहायता करें।
