THE LITTERATEUR

Dr. Satpathy is a multi-lingual writer of eminence having a large number of books in English, Hindi and Odia languages to his credit. His magnum opus titled 'Shri Guru Bhagavat,' originally written in Odia language, gives a comprehensive coverage, of the entire gamut of Guru Parampara which carries the holy tradition of Indian culture. Besides this, he has written other books like 'Gopya ru Agopya,' in Odia language which has been translated in the Sanskrit language as 'Shristi-tattwanu-chintanam.' The original writings of Dr. Satpathy consist of 30 books on philosophy, spirituality, life and teachings of Shirdi Sai Baba and other Saints of India in English, Hindi and Odia languages.

  • Shirdi Sai Baba and Other Perfect Masters (2001), published by Sterling Publishers, New Delhi. Apart from English and Hindi language, the book has been translated into many regional languages like Assamese, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, Bengali, Gujarati, etc. in addition to international languages such as German, Slovenian, Spanish and Nepalese.
     

  • 'Bhakti Naivedya' (2004) comprises of devotional poems and lyrics in Odia language published by Shri Sai Sadhana Trust, Bhubaneswar.
     

  • 'Sai Sharan Main' (2005) comprises of devotional poems and lyrics in the Hindi language published by Sterling Publishers, New Delhi.
     

  • 'Baba May I Answer' (2009), published in English and Hindi language by Sterling Publishers, New Delhi has been translated into many regional languages like Assamese, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, Bengali, Gujarati, etc.
     

  • 'Gopya ru Agopya' (2010), a book on Hindu Cosmology, Cosmogony and Hindu Spiritual Science written in Odia language in fourteen lettered poetic meter has also been translated into Sanskrit and Hindi languages.
     

  • 'Shri Sai Smarane' (2012) comprises of devotional poems and lyrics in Odia language.
     

  • 'Shri Sai Satcharita,' translated version of the original writing in Marathi by “Dabholkar,” the epic book on the life and teachings of Shri Sai Baba. 
     

  • 'Shri Guru Bhagavat' (2010 to 2020) Eight volumes of monumental work in Odia language written in Nabakshri poetic meter (lines with nine letters each, in couplet form) consists of about 34,000 lines, is like an encyclopedia on the glorious  Guru Tradition of India in all its aspects. It narrates in details the Guru-disciple relationship. It is also considered to be the encyclopedia on all aspects of spirituality. Some portion of the book has been composed in musical form and sung by leading singers in  Odia, Telugu, Assamese, Punjabi, Bhojpuri and Maithili which are being aired on AIR and many TV Channels in India and US.  

    The popularity of the book has surpassed geographical boundaries, as evident from the fact that this book has been translated and sung by non-Odia speaking people throughout India and the world. English versions of Vol I to V and Hindi Vol-I to VII have also been published. Some of the volumes of the epic treatise have also been translated and published in Assamese, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Kannada, Tamil, Sindhi, Kashmiri, Marathi, Sanskrit and Telugu languages.

    In two books captioned 'Shri Guru Bhagabata Divyanubhava’ (Vol-I) and ‘Shri Guru Bhagavata Divyanubhuti’ (Vol-ll) (2013), many prominent personalities from India and abroad belonging to various fields like literary, academic, administrative, and philanthropic to name a few, have acclaimed the epic ‘Guru Bhagavata’ through their writings. These writings have been compiled and published in these two volumes.

    Dr. Satpathy was instrumental in translating Shri Sai Satcharita into Brail language and distributed it freely among the blind devotees of Shirdi Sai Baba.

  • Under the inspiration of Dr. Satpathy, the book “God who descended on earth” was translated into French, Spanish and Nepalese languages; and Shirdi Sai Baba’s Aartis were also translated into Spanish, Odia, Hindi and English languages.
     

As a scholar, the credentials of Dr. Satpathy are praiseworthy. He is widely read and has a personal library of old books, journals and valuable documents in the English language and Odia language (as old as early 19th Century). Research scholars are welcome to consult these papers and manuscripts.

 

The most treasured possession in Dr. Satpathy's personal library is the valuable research material on Shri Shirdi Sai Baba, in the form of books, old magazines, and other rare documents.
