VASANT UTSAV CELEBRATION 2017

The springtime fervor splashed its colors of festivity at Sai Ka Aangan, Gurgaon, as it celebrated its Annual Function on the 1st of February 2017, for the fifteenth year on Vasant Panchami.  A grand cultural program was conducted in the evening by team Sai Ka Aangan, in association with Shirdi Sai Global Foundation at the Temple premises.

Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy lit the ceremonial lamp to inaugurate the celebration which was witnessed by devotees even beyond the venue, through live streaming, all across the world. The children’s orchestra of Shirdi Sai Global Foundation enthralled the audience with their melodious songs, while the Bachchon ki Gotti of Sai Ka Aangan staged ‘Amrit Kalash ki Kuchh Boondein’ - a wonderful dramatic exhibit on the literary works of Dr. Satpathyji. The audience also witnessed the official launch of the Facebook page of the Foundation and release of the Bangla translation of Shri Guru Bhagawan Part V, the epic treatise, at the hands of Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy.

Shri Somveer Kathurwal and his troupe, which had performed under the guidance of their Guru Shri Ashok Verma, in the presence of the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi, to mark the golden jubilee year of Haryana, showcased their art expertise in Haryanvi dance form on this auspicious occasion. The feather on the cap was a mesmerizing presentation of Kuchipudi Dance by Ms. Bhavana Reddy and troupe. Ms. Bhavana, a dancer of international fame, is the daughter of renowned Kuchipudi choreographers and Gurus, Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan Radha and Raja Reddy, who have also been conferred the Sangeet Natak Akademi and Nritya Choodamani awards. The introduction to the dance was narrated by Dr. Raja Reddy.

Vocal musical renditions by Ms. Antara Chakraborty, a singer of national acclaim, hailing from the state of Odisha, added a divine touch to the festivities.

On this occasion, amidst loud applause, Dr. Satpathy was felicitated with a token of thanksgiving on behalf of all institutions under the umbrella of Shirdi Sai Global Foundation, in commemoration of his 70th birthday. He blessed the performers and emphasized the importance of aiding society through service to mankind. He said it is incumbent on all to worship the God within, rather than following rigorous rituals and visiting temples to offer obeisance. We all need to find a little space in our minds to nestle thoughts and love for God, only then can we evolve ourselves under the guidance of the Sadguru.

Smt. Jyotsna Rai was the compere for the evening. Ms. Kumkum Bhatia gave the Vote of Thanks and the day ended with Sai Prasad served to all.
