Special Postal Cover on "Shri Guru Bhagwat"To commemorate the popularity of the magnum opus “Shri Guru Bhagwat”, the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, issued a special cover with special cancellation cachet on the theme of “Shri Guru Bhagwat” on Utkal Diwas (1st Apr 2023) which was released by the Chief Speaker, Sh Basanta Kumar Singha, SPOs Mayurbhanj Postal Department at Pryash Hall, Baripada, Mayurbhanj, Odisha, in the august presence of Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy. Shri Guru Bhagwat authored by Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy, (noted scholar, spiritual thinker, author, and humanitarian) is an unparalleled creation that gives comprehensive coverage, of the entire gamut of Guru Parampara which carries the holy tradition of Indian culture. Originally written in Odia language, Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy ji’s magnum opus - Shri Guru Bhagwat, runs into eight volumes containing more than 34,000 verses in Nabakshyari poetic meter. This book elaborately depicts the theme of devotion towards the Guru with the basic features of Guru tradition. This treatise contains invaluable aspects of human life, the greatness of Shri Guru, the different levels of Guru, the Guru-disciple relationship, the different types of disciples, the importance of rendering services to the Guru, and also concepts like superstitions, principles of family life, etc. This book is widely available across India in sixteen different languages and also as musical albums in six languages. Former President of India Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil had extended a letter of recognition and appreciation to Dr. Satpathy ji in 2012 for the success of the book Shri Guru Bhagwat. At this event, Uttarsahi Chhau Pratisthan performed the famous Mayurbhanj Chhau dance on the theme of “Mahakaali” & on “Shri Guru Bhagwat”. Sh Basanta Kumar Singha presented a special “My Stamp” (A stamp sheet containing 12 stamps) printed on the theme “Shri Guru Bhagwat” to Dr. Satpathy ji. Sri Bibhudutta Sahu, Postmaster Baripada Head Post Office extended the vote of thanks. Devotees and trustees of various Shirdi Sai Baba-related trusts across India and abroad witnessed this event.
