Indian Consulate in Seattle invites Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy ji for a special discourse
The Indian Consulate in Seattle hosted a special cultural event titled *“Shri Guru Bhagwat – India’s Message of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”*, organized by Shri Sai Aangan, Seattle. The event celebrated India’s timeless philosophy of “the world as one family,” drawing prominent members of the Indian diaspora and well-known cultural figures.
The evening began with an introductory address by Consul General Shri Prakash Gupta, who welcomed guests and highlighted the spirit of unity and human values embodied in *Shri Guru Bhagwat*.
A captivating Odissi dance performance, choreographed to a prayer from *Shri Guru Bhagwat*, enthralled the audience and set a reflective tone for the evening’s proceedings.
During the ceremony, Shri Prakash Gupta felicitated Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy for his extensive contributions to literature, spirituality, and music, recognizing his influence in fostering cultural exchange and social harmony.
Three of Dr. Satpathy’s publications were also unveiled on this occasion:
- *Shirdi Saibaba: An Inspiring Life* (English) , published by Harper Collins, one of the world's leading publishing house.
- *Shirdi Saibaba: Ek Prernadayi Jeevan* (Hindi), published by Harper Collins.
- *Pita Mata Stabak* (in English, Hindi, and Odia), a prayer compilation dedicated to honor the parents and reinforcing moral values in families.
Shri R.C. Joshi (IAS) introduced the newly released works and spoke on the role of a Guru in shaping character and nurturing ethical strength in society through texts like *Shri Guru Bhagwat*.
In his address, Dr. Satpathy delved into the deeper meaning of *Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam*, explaining that its essence extends beyond humanity to encompass all living beings (*Pranivadita*). He reflected on the *Pita Mata Stabak* prayers he composed, now recited across schools and educational institutions, emphasizing the need to embed gratitude and reverence in education.
In this occasion, Dr. Satpathy appreciated Consul General Prakash Gupta for his leadership in establishing the new Consulate premises and for encouraging Indian cultural initiatives in the Pacific Northwest.
