Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy Debate & Knowledge Center
Ravenshaw Collegiate School, one of Odisha’s most historic educational institutions, witnessed a momentous occasion today with the inauguration of the “Debate and Knowledge Center,” a new space dedicated to learning and thoughtful exchange. The hall, named *“Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy Kaksha (Hall)”, was inaugurated by **Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy Ji*, who also conceptualized the initiative.
The newly established center stands as a tribute to Dr. Satpathy Ji’s vision and contributions to education. Constructed through the generous efforts of the school’s alumni, the hall aims to serve as a hub for knowledge-sharing and intellectual development. It houses an extensive collection of books from varied disciplines, including a dedicated section featuring Dr. Satpathy Ji’s complete works, allowing students and visitors to explore his literary and philosophical writings
Shri Satyabrata Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary for Home, Forest, Environment, and Climate Change, attended the ceremony as a distinguished guest.
Shrimati Pragati Panda, the Head Mistress, expressed the school’s deep gratitude for his continuous support. She highlighted his pivotal role in the school’s modernization, recalling the inauguration of the smart class on August 10, 2023, which was made possible by his generous donation.
Justice Shri Laxmi Kanta Mohapatra, former Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court, felicitated Dr. Satpathy ji on behalf of the alumni
Founded in 1851 by Thomas Edward Ravenshaw, Ravenshaw Collegiate School is recognized as a heritage institution with a remarkable legacy of academic excellence. The school has produced many distinguished personalities over the decades. Notably, Dr. Satpathy Ji himself studied at this institution during his early childhood years and has remained actively involved in its growth—having initiated the annual Laddu Diwas tradition and supported several development initiatives for the school community.
