Celebration the auspicious second day of Chhath Puja — Kharna

On the 26 October 2025, the spirit of devotion and culture came alive at Sai Ka Aangan, Gurugram, as the Bhojpuri Sanskritik Sansthan, in association with the Sai Prakash Charitable Trust, celebrated the auspicious second day of Chhath Puja — Kharna — with great enthusiasm and reverence.

The evening began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, setting the tone for a soulful celebration. The children of Sai Ka Aangan filled the air with devotion through their rendition of Shri Sai bhajans, followed by a graceful classical dance performance set to music composed by Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy Ji.

A major highlight of the event was the release of Guru Bhagwat (Maithili) Part – 1 and a compilation of prayers (Bhojpuri) Parts 1 to 6 by Dr. Satpathy Ji. The audience was also treated to the first look of Dr. Satpathy Ji’s new Bhojpuri bhajans, for which he himself has written the lyrics and composed the music — a true reflection of his deep connection with language, music, and spirituality. The bhajans have been sung by Shri Manoj Tiwari, Member of Parliament, Bhojpuri actor and singer.

In his address, Dr. Satpathy Ji spoke about the profound significance of Chhath Puja — a festival that celebrates gratitude, purity, and the eternal bond between humans and nature. He also emphasised the importance of cultural traditions in maintaining social harmony and spiritual balance, encouraging the continuation of such events to strengthen cultural roots.

The celebration drew a distinguished gathering, including the High Commissioner of Guyana, senior IAS, IPS, and IRS officers, and a large number of devotees and well-wishers. Adding to the festive spirit, the evening concluded with a community meal featuring traditional delicacies from Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, bringing everyone together in the true spirit of Chhath.

The event beautifully blended devotion, art, and cultural pride — a fitting tribute to one of India’s most sacred festivals.
