Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy was conferred with the D Lit (Honoris Causa) in recognition of his contribution to spiritual and literary excellence leadership on the 27 March 2017 on the occasion of the tenth-anniversary celebrations of North Odisha University at Baripada by the Governor of Odisha & Chancellor of the University Shri S C Jamir. Baripada happens to be the native place of Dr. Satpathy.

It may also be mentioned here that Dr. Satpathy had instituted a Gold medal in the memory of his father Late Shri Gokul Chandra Satpathy for the student receiving the highest mark in BA (Hons) English. This year it was awarded to Miss Aparajita Ojha.
