Written in the unique Nabakshari poetic metre, this epic work comprehensively explores the timeless Guru Parampara—the sacred Guru-disciple tradition that forms the foundation of Indian spiritual culture. Spanning nine volumes composed over nearly a decade, Shri Guru Bhagwat contains approximately 38,000 lines and is regarded as an encyclopaedic treatise on spirituality, Guru Bhakti, and the profound relationship between Guru and disciple. Portions of the work have also been composed in musical form and rendered by acclaimed singers in multiple languages, including Odia, Telugu, Assamese, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, and Maithili. The universal appeal of Shri Guru Bhagwat has led to its translation into twenty four languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Kashmiri to name a few.
The popularity of the book has surpassed geographical boundaries, as evident from the fact that this book has been translated and sung by non-Odia speaking people throughout India and the world. English versions of Vol I to V and Hindi Vol-I to VII have also been published. Some of the volumes of the epic treatise have also been translated and published in Assamese, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Kannada, Tamil, Sindhi, Kashmiri, Marathi, Sanskrit and Telugu languages.
To celebrate and document the impact of this extraordinary work, two companion volumes—Shri Guru Bhagwat Divyanubhava (Vol. I) and Shri Guru Bhagwat Divyanubhuti (Vol. II)—were published, featuring reflections and tributes from distinguished personalities from literary, academic, administrative, and philanthropic fields in India and abroad.
