23 July 2026
New Temple in Gurugram - Shri Jagannath, Shri Balabhadra, Maa Shubhadra & Shri Sudarshan
A grand consecration ceremony for the newly established temple dedicated to Lord Shri Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and Shri Sudarshan was held at Sai Ka Aangan, Gurugram, on July 22 and 23, 2026, in accordance with Vedic traditions. All the sacred rituals were performed under the guidance of Guruji Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy Ji.
For the past three years, the grand Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra has been successfully organised at Sai Ka Aangan under the guidance of Dr. Satpathy Ji. In view of the steadily growing faith and devotion of the devotees, it was decided to establish a permanent temple for the deities within the Sai Ka Aangan premises.
Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy Ji is a distinguished spiritual thinker, author, humanitarian, and torchbearer of spiritual movements in India and abroad. He has also played a significant role in preserving and promoting Odia traditions and Shri Jagannath culture across the world.
Under his guidance and inspiration, Shri Jagannath Rath Yatras have been successfully organised in Gurugram, Noida, Bareilly, Dallas in the United States, and several other cities in India and abroad. Through these celebrations, he has helped Odia culture gain wider international recognition while continuously spreading Lord Shri Jagannath’s message of love, service, equality, harmony, and “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”—the belief that the entire world is one family. The two-day consecration ceremony commenced on Wednesday, July 22, with the Vedic rituals of “Purva Puja” and “Adhivasa.”
On Thursday, July 23, the programme began in the morning with a sacred Kalash Yatra. This was followed by an elaborate Vedic Yajna, during which the Purna Ahuti was offered by Dr. Satpathy Ji himself. Dr. Satpathy Ji also performed the highly sacred ritual of “Chakshudaan,” through which divine vision is ceremoniously invoked in the deities, spiritually awakening the consecrated idols.
The evening programme began with a grand procession in which the sacred idols of Lord Shri Jagannath and the other deities were carried around the Sai Ka Aangan temple premises. Thereafter, the idols were traditionally installed in the newly established temple in accordance with complete Vedic rites and traditions. On the occasion, Dr. Satpathy Ji said that Shri Jagannath Puri is one of the four sacred Dhams of India and has held immense spiritual significance since ancient times. He stated that almost all the great saints and spiritual leaders had visited Puri to seek the blessings of Lord Shri Jagannath. Among them were Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and the great Assamese saint Shri Sankardev Ji. The programme concluded at 5:30 p.m. with the evening Aarti and Prasad Seva.
The sacred occasion was organised by the Sai Ka Aangan family in association with the CBS Cultural Foundation. Devotees from Odisha, Gurugram, and the surrounding regions attended the ceremony with their families and friends. They offered prayers to Lord Shri Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and Shri Sudarshan and received their divine blessings.
