‘The legacy of Shirdi Sai: A Cultural Evening in London'

To commemorate the Centenary Year of the Mahasamadhi of Shri Sai, Shirdi Sai Global Foundation in association with Shri Shirdi Sai Sansthan (UK) organised a cultural evening, comprising different Indian classical dance forms and music, in London. The event was organised at Shri Sanatan Hindu Mandir, Wembley, London.

Dr. C.B. Satpathy graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Mr. Virendra Sharma (Member of Parliament, United Kingdom), Mr. Bhagwanji Chohan (Mayor of Brent), Mr. Muhammed Butt (Leader of Brent Council) and other dignitaries also attended the event. At the event, Mr. Chohan felicitated Dr. Satpathy for his humanitarian and philanthropic contributions in the United Kingdom and other parts of the world.

The attractions of the evening included scintillating dance performances like Kuchipudi, Odissi, Bharatnatyam and other dance forms representing different parts of India. Some of the dance performances were based on the lyrics written and music composed by Dr. Satpathy.

In keeping with Dr. Satpathy message to intermingle with local culture, Ms. Irene Robinson played Bagpipes and Odissi dance was performed by Ms. Katrina Rute, who was born in Latvia and learned the dance in Sweden.

To support charity work in the United Kingdom, Dr. Satpathy provided some financial assistance to the Mayor of Brent.
