Dr. C.B. Satpathy Keynote Speaker at Ravenshaw's 150 Anniversary Celebrations

On the occasion of the 150-anniversary celebrations at the Heritage Hall of Ravenshaw University, the second day focused on Ravenshaw – Past, Present and Future. Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy notable Philosopher, Philanthropist, Author, Spiritual Thinker and distinguished alumni shared the stage with few other prominent alumni of the prestigious institution. Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy holds the unique honor of being born in the Ravenshaw campus, having graduated in Political Science from Ravenshaw College and having been conferred with the prestigious D. Litt. (Honoris Causa) By the Ravenshaw University. Shri Gokul Chandra Satpathy was the first Indian Registrar of the prestigious institution.

 

On occasion, Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy shared that Utkalmani Gopa Bandhu Das and Shri Krushna Mahapatro played a pivotal role in the shaping of Ravenshaw who termed the institution as Odisha’s child. It has shaped the lives of thousands of glorious citizens who have immensely contributed to the society in various fields. For the development of Odisha, it is essential that new curriculum is framed such as Journalism and initiatives be taken in the lines of research and development. Dr. Satpathy proposed that it was necessary for all alumni to revive Ravenshaw’s glorious culture. Dr. Satpathy also emphasized on preparing a list of the people who have contributed to shaping up the glory of Ravenshaw and to prepare a Blueprint on which alumni can contribute in what way for building the future of the institution. Dr. Satpathy promised that the conclusion of the 150 years of celebration through a cultural interface, would be supported and sponsored by Dr. C B Satpathy Cultural Foundation.  

 

The Ravenshaw University announced that the University would, in association with C. B. Satpathy Cultural Foundation, organize Gokul Chandra Satpathy Memorial lecture, the layout of which would be shared in due course of time.

 

Dr. Satpathy shared the stage with other prominent alumni members such as Sh Arijit Pasayat, Justice (Retd) Supreme Court of India, Padma Bhushan Sitakanta Mohapatra, Prof. Manoranjan Mohanty, Dr. Bhubaneswar Mishra of NYU Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Prof. Anant Charan Sahu, former Vice Chancellor of Ravenshaw. The function was coordinated by Dr. Sanjay Kumar Satpathy and Dr. Ramachandra Majhi.
