The Aangan of Shri Sai at Sushant Lok, Gurgaon, came alive with merriment and vibrant hues yet again, to celebrate Vasant Panchami on Sunday, 21st January 2018. Sai Ka Aangan celebrated the sixteenth Vasant Utsav in association with Shirdi Sai Global Foundation. Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy graced the festive cultural evening as the Chief Guest. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by Dr. Satpathy and invocation by the Children’s Choir of Sai Ka Aangan.

Ms. Kavita Dwibedi, renowned Odissi danseuse and her troupe paid obeisance to Shri Sai Baba on mantras composed by Dr. Satpathy and enthralled the assembly through a beautiful portrayal of the classical Dashavatar as adapted from Jaydev’s Geeta Govinda. Pragjyotish Bihu Husori Group from Assam performed to the lively spontaneous rhythm of Bihu. Melodious Bhajans sung by Ms. Moushumi Chakravartti added divine fervor.  

 

A documentary with glimpses of past Vasant Utsavs celebrated at the Aangan caught everybody’s attention.

 

Dr. Satpathy’s message was a lesson for life. He said that making life beautiful for one and all is the first step towards spiritualism. He felicitated all the artists on stage. Ms. Jyotsna Rai, a former newsreader at Doordarshan mastered the ceremony. After the Vote of Thanks, the celebration ended with delicious Langar Prasad served to all.
